Since it is the Last Day of July, Let's End it with a Bang!

by danni 7/31/2009 4:05:00 AM

Have you ever wandered around the parking lot for hours unable to find your car? Have you ever dreamed of setting off fireworks LEGALLY? If you answered yes to both questions or if you even answered no to both questions, this invention is still for you (Come on, it's fireworks!). Mac Funamizo invented a Firework Locator System that uses holographic technology to project light and color in the form of fireworks above a lost car. Basically, you push a button on the cool Fireworks key, and then the emitter located on the top of your car sets off a firework show for all to enjoy. Voila, lost car found!

All I have to say is, does it count as a lost car if you lose it purposely? I would leave my car everywhere and anywhere if I had this gidget. Imagine all the smiles you would get, and all the ladies <wink, wink>. Forget the red hot convertible, gents, cars that set off fireworks are the new standard. And for the grand finale, let's line up all our cars, and set them off at the same time!

What an interesting invention. Remember if you have an idea, first make a prototype, and then patent it.

But wait, what if I lose my keys to start with? We need to design an invention involving fireworks to locate them as well. Smile

Wishing I Was Still At Comic-Con

by danni 7/27/2009 7:31:00 AM

Well, everyone, Comic-Con was a blast! I got my geek on!

I also searched around for some interesting inventions. But let me tell you there were a lot, here are just a few that I thought were really interesting:

The Star Wars toaster! Not only does this baby make warm toasty bread with an image of the handsome Darth Vader on it, but it uses the FORCE to make it! I kid...I think. You can preorder yours today (I know you want to!) at StarWarsShop.com for 54.99. It will be available on September 15th.

At the MGM booth, people were screaming for excitement! Well, more like fear. These fake electric chairs offer a virtual experience in previewing clips of the new Fox and MGM horror movies. Some people screamed during the two-minute video, I like to think I screamed with dignity.

So this is pretty interesting, especially to watch! The kid in the black shirt is moving a ball up and down a tube with his mind! Yea, I couldn't believe it so I had to goggle/bing it! The invention was developed by Uncle Milton Toy Industries and uses the same technology of an EEG. The head piece measures brainwave patterns based on the number of neurons being fired, and then moves the ball accordingly. The more concentrated you are, the farther the ball moves up. "The force is with you" is how I like to think about it.

I hope this post has inspired you to start thinking about new invention ideas. Next year's Comic-Con is going to come around quickly, so hurry and design an invention for me to gush over! Your product could be featured here. Geeks unite!

Love Danni

Flowers That Won't Add to Your Allergies, But Could Cause Carpal Tunnel

by danni 7/24/2009 4:24:00 AM

Well, it is that time again! Where all geeks unite and share their love for all things geeky in beautiful San Diego. I will be at Comic Con partying it up and looking for new inventions to post next week. Hopefully, I meet this hottie.

But I had to post one more amazing invention before I leave. Gigantic Flowers!

These flowers might be growing in a city near you! Toyota, in an attempt to remind you that the 2010 Prius is green friendly and therefore a MUST purchase, will install these solar-powered stations that offer free Wi-Fi and power charging in New York City, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Boston has been lucky enough to have these pretty things up and running already! So remember if you see these pretty things around, you are not shrinking, but you desperately need to buy a Prius duh.

I must say I like the idea! I can write Danni's Blog under a huge daisy while checking out the cute boys walking by! Green inventions like this one are the future, and very popular right now. If you have a very green idea, remember to create a prototype, patent, and sell it! Save the environment and make money.

See you Monday! That is, if I don't get trampled by stormtroopers or stabbed by a plastic lightsaber. Hey, it happens.

Hopefully You Run Fast Enough, So People Don't See You Sporting These

by Danni 7/20/2009 9:10:00 AM

The company Vibram has developed a shoe called FiveFingers. And we thought nothing could get uglier than Crocs!

If you forgo the fashion faux pas, the unique design is quite special. It strengthens your lower leg and foot muscles, improves your balance, and increases your agility in a range of sports-- yoga, kayaking, surfing, hiking, running, you name it. And I must say, they do look comfortable.

Hopefully, Paris Hilton will be sporting these bad boys on the red carpet soon....well maybe not, but she should! Then the paparazzi couldn't keep up with her.

But seriously when is the posh high-heel version coming out?!?! Sometimes the best inventions are just modifications of past products. With that said, shoes always need new designs. If you have an idea, please patent and sell it! Give us a reason to splurge.

Taking Baby Photos To A Whole New Level

by danni 7/17/2009 7:16:00 AM

Beware, kids! Here is a medical advancement that allows parents to hold or display (it resembles art to me!) a three dimensional version of their unborn child. Developed by a student at Royal College of Art, this rapid prototyping technology uses ultrasound and MRI scans to create a life-size plaster model of a fetus. Similar to a printer, rapid prototyping prints layers and layers of plastic powder until a model is formed.

It does seem like a cool idea, but somehow I can't stop picturing Gollum from the Lord of the Rings. Am I right?

On the plus side, medical professionals believe this new technology will enable parents to better understand health problems with their unborn child that should be addressed in the early stages.

Still, could you imagine having your naked 3D fetus displayed in your mother's dining room for all eternity?

New medical inventions are always a good thing despite my pessimism-- I can't help it, it is Friday and I cannot wait to celebrate! But seriously, if you have an idea, please share. The world could always use new products!

Summer BBQ Winner New Infrared Technology

by danni 7/16/2009 6:00:00 AM

Even BBQ's are going high-tech! This Solaire Portable Infrared Grill uses infrared heat and a ceramic tile for clean burning and a cooking method that locks in the juice and flavor of the meat. It lights with electronic ignition and reaches full heat in 2 1/2 minutes! This bad boy is small, portable, fast, and powerful. Yum ! I can smell the steaks grilling... This is really the next generation of portable grills, but the good stuff always comes with a hefty pricetag. This sells for $400 currently, but will probably come down as other grill companies jump on the infrared bandwagon.

Darth Vader Technology

by danni 7/15/2009 4:17:00 AM

In development is this military use keyboard glove meant to provide communications capabilities in harsh environments. It is impervious to moisture and dust and is seven inches long, one inch thick, and has green backlighting compatible with night vision goggles. I hear they have this technology in trousers and combat jackets as well.

How far technology has come in 50 years! How soon before we won't need keyboards at all...?

Blog me ladies and gents if you are familiar with this technology (and even if you're not). I find it fascinating. Ready to prototype your own invention? Patent it first, then get professional representation to sell and market it.

Diabetic Bikers' Relief

by danni 7/14/2009 4:00:00 AM

Aging rockstars, diabetic bikers, and any young diabetic wanting to look cool will rejoice in this new invention: blood sugar monitoring through a tattoo. It's a permanent one-time tattoo that contains nano-ink that measures blood glucose levels and changes color to alert changes in blood sugar. In my personal opinion, it may have a sports nutrition use as well, as athletes and the health conscious are now paying attention to glycemic index and all that. For diabetics, this tattoo eliminates the need for puncture blood tests saving diabetics a lot of pain, time, and money. They're going to have to make the tattoos really cool though for people to catch on...

As much as I love technology (and I really do), these are the types of inventions that really mean something to me. To make people's lives easier, especially when dealing with medical and health issues, has got to be one of the most satisfying feelings there is. Aside from making millions, I'd like to have the satisfaction of helping so many people. Start brainstorming about ancillary products that would facilitate this new invention, and let's talk!

Enjoy this gorgeous summer day!  Danni....

3D Photos of Fido?

by danni 7/13/2009 8:54:00 AM

Hey inventors,

I went camera shopping with my best bud over the weekend and we remarked at all the wonderful features that were included at no extra charge, and how much the prices have come down (I think about 50%) in just 2-3 years. Well, the very next day, I came across this article from WIRED that talks about a real home-use 3D digital camera that is almost ready to launch in the consumer market. It doesn't require special glasses for the 3D effect, but it does require a special frame. Not only is this super-awesome to have 3D pictures of pets, loved ones, and amazing vacations, but this also means we're not too far from holograms. Get inventing those 3D peripheral devices people!

We've come a long way baby...

Just for Fun

by danni 7/1/2009 8:02:00 AM

Happy Independence Day!

I'm getting my cheers in early and hittin' the road for VEGAS. Let's get this weekend party started. Just for fun, I'd like to hear from anyone working on fireworks inventions, or summer fun type stuff. Here's an example of one version of a hot new invention that is selling well...solar bags and backpacks. They charge up during the day while you are camping, hiking, etc. and power your electronics. They vary in strength and power and seem to range about $100-$500. Check out Voltaic Systems and EarthTec Products for starters.

Here's something just for fun from me to you courtesy of YOU TUBE to unleash your creative thoughts...(it's so awesome!)...you must enjoy.
